Air Force Inspector General (IG) Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP) Administrator
The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to administer the Inspector General (IG) Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP) under the leadership of the Director of Inspections. Supports the unit/installation commander in the development, review, and full assessment of organization status as it relates to achieving maximum readiness. Responsible for ensuring thorough evaluation of internal control processes and other required programs.
Ensures assigned CCIP members are qualified and trained to perform internal control monitoring and evaluation activities in accordance with Air Force Instructions, higher headquarters guidance, and unit/installation plans. Additionally, provides training to reservist in the accomplishment of the tasks set forth herein.
DUTIES:
- Cultivates a unit/installation CCIP to facilitate positive working relationships and effective communication with assigned organizations. Ensures the CCIP process complies with applicable directives, focuses on detecting non-compliance with governing directives, and assesses unit effectiveness in the Major Graded Areas (MGAs) as listed in AF inspection guidance. Considers risk areas and prioritizes inspections based on the risk created by undetected non-compliance. Arranges internal inspections with unit/installation managers and IG leadership to allow commanders to control the depth, scope, and frequency of inspections.
- Formulates and develops an annual inspection plan. Prepares annual inspection plans which include evaluations of the effectiveness of the unit/installation, subordinate units, and programs. Designs inspections to determine training and resource requirements, assess status of discipline, evaluate unit/installation readiness, and formulate command welfare strategies. Ensures plans reflect appropriate inspection topics, coordinates inspection work, and avoids duplication.
- Administers the CCIP Dashboard and Commander's Inspection Management Board (CIMB). Employs SharePoint or other reporting tools to oversee the CCIP Dashboard and provide real-time data on wing programs and inspections. Develops reports/charts for presentation at the monthly Commander's Inspection Management Board (CIMB) meetings, and to prepare members of the WIT. Serves as the secretariat for the CIMB and prepares minutes for unit/installation commander review/approval.
Notifies the Inspector General and Inspections Division Chief of deficiencies identified by subordinate organizations requiring external assistance. - Analyzes, reviews, and fully implements higher-headquarters regulations and executes supplementary unit/installation inspection guidance. Analyzes higher-headquarters regulations and guidance and provides direction to organizations regarding CCIP. Submits CCIP reports as required by governing directives. Develops supplementary instructions to implement the self-assessment program as part of the wing/center CCIP in accordance with DoD and AF directives. Receives and acts upon taskings to initiate reviews, audits, and inspections.
Formulates strategies for resolving open deficiencies. Validates and consolidates report inputs, identifies and analyzes adverse trend data, and provides recommended remedies for implementation. - Represents the wing/independent group in a wide variety of assessment functions at meetings, in working groups, and other situations, including emergency management events in surrounding communities. Regularly represents the IG office in discussions regarding internal control actions with a variety of activities, such as operational and support plans consultants, command and control personnel, functional authorities, tenants, and other entities. Actively participates in inspections to identify crisis response or consequence management vulnerabilities.
Researches and provides inspection planning inputs, facilitating a logical approach to inspections relying on accepted planning practices and precedents. Recommends optimal solutions, and identifies entities required to implement solutions.
