Conducts prisoner bookings; operates equipment to fingerprint and photograph each prisoner; maintains control of holdover facility; verifies criminal charge codes; conducts searches of inmates; secures, maintains and logs inmate property; serves meals to inmates; prepares prisoners for court appearances; ensures proper medical care; receives all inquiries regarding prisoners; handles prisoner bonding; collects state required DNA; launders inmate clothing and bedding and processes prisoners for release.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school graduation or GED equivalent with prior corrections experience desired; basic knowledge of city and state laws, codes and ordinances; working knowledge of Police Dept. policies, rules and regulations, use of force policy and techniques including defensive tactics and physical restraints, evidence processing; attention to detail; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to securely maintain chain of custody evidence and documentation;
good personal computer and keyboarding skills.
