Under general direction, coordinates and implements the Water Resources programs of the Water Resources Department, including Clear Lake water enhancement, Lake County Clean Water Program, including NPDES, watershed management, and streambed restoration; assists with Water Resources budget development and administration; prepares grant proposals and administer grants; performs water resources research activities; provides support during floods; assists the public with questions about water resource and flood control laws, regulations, and requirements;
and performs related duties as assigned.
Certifications:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California driver's license.
Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in water resources, resource management, biology, chemistry, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Two (2) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the planning, development, and implementation of water quality, watershed management, and streambed restoration.
Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is preferred.
Additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted.

This is a specialized, single position, professional class has day-to-day responsibility for coordinating and performing a variety of specialized functions related to Clear Lake water enhancement, watershed management, and streambed restoration.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISEDReceives immediate or general supervision from the assigned supervisor. Exercises no direct supervision over staff. May provide technical and functional direction to assigned staff.
