Nail Technician

Job Summary

The Nail Technician is responsible for providing nail care services.

• Ensure the Viejas guest service experience by maintaining standards.
• Adhere to company and departmental policies, standard operating procedures, and applicable governmental laws and regulations.
• Perform nail services that meet established guidelines and fulfill guest expectations in nail grooming, polish application, massage, and exfoliation.
• Customize treatments based on current skin condition(s).
• Provide all treatments on the services menu in accordance with current licensure.
• Assess contraindications that may prevent service.
• Understand and use universal precautions when providing services.
• Clean and disinfect all equipment on a daily basis.
• Maintain the highest level of nail care knowledge for both hands and feet and knowledge of all spa services offered.
• Understand product ingredients and explain their benefits to guests.
• Answer guests’ questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
• Recommend products for home use.
• Suggest other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
• Begin and end all treatments on time.
• Ensure work areas are clean and set according to procedures.
• Inform Spa Director or other management about product needs.
• Create and maintain client cards and treatment notes when appropriate.
• Attend all scheduled meetings and professional trainings.
• Report any incidents or accidents to a member of the management team.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid state license in nail services or other credentials required by the state.
• Must maintain all current licenses and certifications required at state or local level.
• Previous nail technician experience.
• Customer service experience.
• Must be able to build rapport with guests.
• Ability to explain various treatments/services to guests.
• Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
• Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
• Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
• Good verbal and written skills.
• Strong team player.
• Must be comfortable with production recommendations.
• Must be flexible to work different shifts, evenings, and holidays.
