Sonography Technologist – 26 Mile – PRN – Rotating

Shift: PRN, fill‑in position; hours and days per week vary based on departmental needs.

Location:

36750 26 Mile Rd, Chesterfield, MI 48047.

• Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
• Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures.
• Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
• Ensures equipment is properly functioning; reports potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel; locks/tag–out equipment if appropriate.
• Ensures prompt submission of high‑quality images and documents to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers, patient data/history).
• Assists in maintaining a clean, orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and other areas in department.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree within 6 months of hire, or Technical degree required within 6 months of hire.

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• One or more of the following:
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from ARRT obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire.
  • Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI) also accepted.
  • Cardiographic Tech specializing in Electrophysiology credentialed from CCI obtained prior to hire.
  • Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from ARDMS obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from ARDMS or CCI obtained within 12 months of hire.

• General and vascular experience required; breast experience preferred. Vascular certification required within one year of hire.
