## Description
** Job Overview:
** Perform professional and administrative work in providing direct caregiver support activities using a person-centered trauma-informed approach; related work as required. Conduct presentations and participate in partnership opportunities
** Supervision:
** Reports to Caregiver Support/Respite & In-Home Services Manager. May supervise volunteers.
** Duties/Responsibilities:
*** Counsel caregivers to assist them in making decisions and solving problems related to their caregiving roles, including coaching in long-term planning, stress reduction, and resource education.
* Work with program manager to coordinate monthly Caregiver Support Educational Webinars
* Prepare and provide formal training to caregivers; virtual and in-person.
* Complete case records and enter data into Peer Place for caregiver support activities.
* Ensure the Caregiver Support department website and intranet stays up-to date with Caregiver Support events and resources.
* Network throughout the planning district to assure caregiver support resources are identified, efforts are coordinated, and caregivers are connected.
* Conduct presentations and represent Agency at events in the community.
* Promote Caregiver Support Program resources in community and within existing Senior Connections programs (Respite & In Home Care, Home Delivered Meals, Care Transitions)
* Work closely with Caregiver Support Manager in program planning, establishing annual goals, objectives, and an implementation plan; update goals and objectives as needed for the Caregiver Support Program.
* Answers phones, processes mail, orders supplies, assists with preparing for and attends meetings;
* Does related work as requested.
* Participates in advocacy efforts to support and address the diverse needs of the communities we serve.
* Supports opportunities for community volunteers to engage with relevant aspects of their department or program, with support from Volunteer Services Staff.## Qualifications
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
** Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of caregiver support. Awareness of the biological, psychological and social aspects of aging and the impact of disabilities and illnesses on aging. Knowledge of community support and programs available to caregivers of older adults. Ability to communicate ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to prepare and maintain records and prepare automated reports.
Ability to resolve problems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse officials, staff, volunteers, community agencies and the general public.

* Education and Experience:
** Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in human services, gerontology, or a related field is required. Two years’ experience in direct services human services or volunteer program management is preferred. Experience may be substituted for education.

* Physical Requirements:
*** Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Prolonged periods of sitting behind a vehicle for travel time within our planning district.
