Speech-Language Pathologist - Long-Term Care – UHC Staffing Speech-Language Pathologist - Long-Term Care

Location: Lewistown, MO

Start Date: 02-16-2026

End Date: 05-18-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift, 8-hour days; flexible start between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM with consistent schedule communicated to DOR)

Hours per Week: 35

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders using evidence-based approaches
  • Develop meaningful, individualized plans of care that align with regulatory and clinical standards
  • Use standardized assessments to guide treatment decisions and measure outcomes
  • Adjust interventions based on patient progress and document those changes clearly in the EHR
  • Provide counseling and education to patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Accurately record treatment minutes and prepare comprehensive discharge summaries
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehab meetings to advocate for patient needs
  • Obtain necessary DME/supplies and coordinate resources to support patient care
  • Supervise and mentor CFY and student SLPs, fostering growth and high-quality clinical practice
Qualifications
  • Active ASHA CCC-SLP required
  • Missouri State License required (compact licensure allowed)
  • Minimum 1 year of SLP experience;
    Long-Term Care or Rehab experience required
  • New grads OKAY with Level II clinical experience (Level I observational experience alone is not sufficient)
  • Ability and willingness to supervise CFY or student SLPs
  • Completion of 8 hours of NBO (orientation) as required by facility
  • Adherence to ASHA and State practice acts, code of conduct, and professional ethics
Knowledge & Skills
  • Expertise in standardized assessments and evidence-based practice
  • Strong treatment planning and documentation skills (EHR proficiency)
  • Experience managing swallowing and cognitive-communication disorders
  • Skilled at counseling patients, families, and caregivers
  • Ability to evaluate treatment effectiveness and modify care accordingly
  • Comfort participating in interdisciplinary meetings and communicating progress
  • Proficient in accurate recording of treatment minutes and discharge summaries
