American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a current MO or compact RN license and advanced perinatal certifications.
Job Details
• Work in an acute care hospital in the Labor & Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit,
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3,
• Cares for antepartum, labor, delivery, postpartum, and mother/baby populations, including Level I Nursery,
• Performs specialized procedures such as amnioinfusion, assisting with vaginal and C-section deliveries, and antepartum testing,
• Expected to circulate for C-sections, perform triage, and provide full couplet care,
• Required to float within scope to other departments, units, and facilities as needed,
• Uses Epic charting system; previous Epic experience required,
• Day shifts (3x12 hours), 6:45-19:15, with weekend rotation (4-6 weekend and 2 Friday shifts per 6 weeks),
• Two mandatory on-call shifts per 6-week schedule period,
Job Requirements
• Active MO or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration,
• Minimum 3 years recent Labor & Delivery experience required, including at least 1 year in specialty within the past 12 months without employment gaps greater than 90 days,
• BLS, FHM, and NRP certifications required; AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate preferred,
• Skills in IV therapy, blood product administration, labor management, postpartum and neonatal care, and fetal monitoring required,
• Experience with antepartum, intrapartum, LDRP, Level I Nursery, and low-volume facility settings preferred,
• Two professional references from the past year (one supervisor level or above, one may be charge RN) required,
• Not open to first-time travelers,
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility,
• Pending or temporary licenses not accepted,
Additional Information
• Responsibilities include comprehensive care throughout antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, including newborn assessment and patient education,
• Must be able to manage high-risk deliveries, emergencies, and rapidly changing clinical situations,
• Charge nurse and holiday shift assignments required as needed,
• Required to work one major and one to two minor holidays per contract as scheduled,
• Navy scrubs provided by the facility,
• Free parking available on site,
• Maximum of seven days requested time off allowed per contract; up to two RTO requests permitted,
• Drug screening and annual module completion required,
• No travel partners accepted for this assignment,
