Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist - Main

Under the supervision of the surgeon, the Certified Surgical Technologist – First Assistant (CST-FA) performs first assistant duties during surgical procedures and acts as a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room as needed. The CST-FA maintains accountability for surgical instruments, coordinates the care of surgical patients with other team members, maintains patient rights and confidentiality, and performs duties consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

• Experience:
  
  Minimum 3 years surgical technologist scrub experience.
• Education:
  
  Surgical Technology experience or Graduate with a Degree in Surgical Technology or completion certification from an accredited surgical technology program preferred.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS through the American Heart Association.
