Occupational Therapist Assistant – UHC Staffing Occupational Therapist Assistant

Location: Humansville, MO

Start Date: 02-23-2026

End Date: 05-25-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift) — 8-hour shifts. Start times are flexible but requested to begin before 6:00 AM and no later than 10:00 AM; consistent schedule to be communicated with DOR. 35 guaranteed work week (GWW).

Hours per Week: 35

Candidate Pay Rate: $41 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary OTA interventions under OT supervision
  • Deliver ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to support patient function
  • Use assistive and supportive devices to enhance patient independence
  • Assess patient progress and communicate treatment adjustments to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Accurately document all clinical care and treatment minutes in the electronic record per regulatory requirements
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings such as patient care conferences and utilization review
  • Provide consultation and education to patients, families, caregivers, and other providers
  • Support discharge planning by providing input to the supervising OT and preparing required documentation
  • Coordinate DME/supplies with the supervising OT as needed
  • Supervise and support OTA students during Level II fieldwork under OT guidance
Qualifications
  • Active OTA license/registration required (State licensure in Missouri; Compact allowed)
  • Minimum 1 year of OTA experience preferred (LTC or SNF experience required); new grads considered with Level II fieldwork experience
  • Adherence to NBCOT / AOTA standards, state practice acts, and professional ethics
  • Comfortable with electronic documentation and accurate treatment minutes recording
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to participate in required facility and company trainings and meetings
Education
  • Completion of an accredited OTA program (Associate degree or diploma) or equivalent
  • Level II fieldwork required for new graduates
Knowledge & Skills
  • ADL retraining techniques and functional task analysis
  • Therapeutic activities and therapeutic exercise planning
  • Use of modalities and assistive/supportive devices
  • Patient assessment and progress reporting to supervising OT
  • Electronic health record documentation and treatment minute tracking
  • DME coordination and basic supplies management
  • Student supervision and mentorship during Level II fieldwork
  • Effective interdisciplinary communication and care planning
