The Louisiana Department of Health, Office of Public Health – Engineering Services is seeking a dedicated and driven Sanitarian to join our frontline team of professionals protecting public health across the state!
Possession of a current Louisiana Sanitarian's license plus one of the following:
- Three years of experience as a sanitarian; OR
- A master's degree in public health, food science, dairy science, environmental or sanitary science, or one of the physical or biological sciences plus two years of experience as a sanitarian.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in the Molluscan Shellfish program require that applicants complete the Louisiana Boating Education program and be certified by the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
- Works within the Louisiana Department of Health Bureau of Engineering Services to plan, schedule and perform water sample collection for drinking water contaminants at public water systems
- Tracks, schedules, and conducts re-sampling of incomplete analysis reports and follow-up compliance or investigative sampling for maximum contaminant level detections and/or water complaints within required timeframe
This position must maintain current registration with the Louisiana State Board of Examiners for Sanitarians as a Licensed Professional Sanitarian.
