Field Supervisor – Mercy Camdenton – Full Time Overview
Perform direct patient care including assessment, evaluation, basic and advanced life support according to the goals of Mercy Health System. The philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy Standard of Care and Employee Code of Conduct. Field Supervisors also perform clerical, maintenance duties and act as preceptors of EMT and Paramedic students. They also supervise EMTs and Paramedics in daily routine and pre‑hospital care settings.
Field Supervisors make operational decisions in the absence of Manager‑Regional EMS or Supervisor‑Operations and instruct EMT and Paramedic on in‑service training, education and driving. The incumbent carries out responsibilities and integrates into Mercy’s philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respecting human life and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area under responsibility.
Performs related duties as assigned.
- Paramedic (EMT‑P license required for the state of practice, valid driver’s license required).
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- Hazmat awareness or level training.
- ACLS at hire.
- PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
May be required to work differing shifts and schedules. Unimpaired mobility. Must respond quickly to ambulance, access patients in difficult terrain, climb stairs, work in close and dangerous environments such as damaged vehicles, carry equipment and patients with partner. Must perform strenuous physical requirements such as CPR, lifting, moving equipment and patients in a variety of environmental conditions. Must perform required medical skills and techniques.
Must have correctable vision acceptable for day and night operation of emergency vehicles, color acuity adequate for determining skin and blood color, read medication dosages on drug labels and syringes. Must hear and understand information from patients, family or bystanders; hear breath sounds, determine auscultated blood pressures; differentiate conversations in active, distracting environments; understand radio traffic when responding with lights and sirens.
Must speak and enunciate clearly at a level audible to others in loud conditions, speak clearly in stressful situations, verbally communicate with patients, families and other emergency service personnel. Incumbents will be required to successfully satisfy the physical demands of the role, including a pre‑hire and annual fitness for duty test.

Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred LicensureTLS Provider.
Preferred ExperienceEmergency Services or related leadership experience, 3 years Paramedic experience, teaching experience.
Preferred Certifications / RegistrationNIMS 300 and 400.
