As a Financial Care Specialist II at Cedars‑Sinai, you will serve a key function in our Anesthesia Pain Center, delivering assistance to Patient Financial Services. With general supervision and adherence to set procedures, policies, and guidelines, you will identify, analyze, resolve, and address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues. The ideal candidate demonstrates solid experience in revenue cycle operations and a comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements along with Cedars‑Sinai policies related to billing and collections.

What

will you be doing in this role?
  • Apply detailed knowledge of and follow all hospital and department policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Cedars‑Sinai’s core patient accounting systems.
  • Manage assigned work queues and workload, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of accounts.
  • Adhere to documentation standards, ensuring notes are clear and concise.
  • Complete necessary research and account follow-up activities to resolve inquiries and customer complaints.

    Respond to patient, insurance company, and third‑party inquiries, ensuring timely and appropriate resolutions.
  • Negotiate and document payment plans within established policies.
  • Secure timely and exact account receivables for hospital services.
  • Initiate collection calls to patients and insurance companies, maintaining adherence to department protocol.
  • Independently compose business correspondence and compile performance data reports.
  • Assume a leadership role in the absence of the team lead or supervisor and assist in training staff.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with other team members, encouraging a collaborative environment.
  • Ensure practices and procedures are inclusive of interpersonal and cultural diversity.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to internal and external customer needs.
Qualifications Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED required;
    Associate degree in business administration or related major preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in hospital or professional billing and collections, along with customer service and call center exposure.
  • Experience coding medical procedures and understanding of insurance guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to educate providers and staff on insurance and procedures guidelines.
