Paramedic – PRN – Night Shift – ED

Job Summary

• Provides direct patient care, within their scope of practice, under a physician’s supervision.
• Assists in the assessment of the physical and psychosocial needs of patients.
• Performs clinical job duties as defined in orientation.
• Provide patient care according to hospital policy and procedure.
• Safely administer medications following hospital policy and procedure, within their license’s scope.
• Records all documentation accurately in the EHR.
• Compliance with HIPAA policy and procedures.
• Demonstrates understanding of and compliance with EMTALA regulations.
• Communicates a positive and caring attitude towards the patient and family.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Graduate from an approved Paramedic Program
• Current Paramedic License in the state of Louisiana
• Registered Paramedic with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
• Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or Hospital Experience – preferred

• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
• Proficient in the use of computers.
• Effective planning, organizing, and time management skills.
• Ability to identify medical emergencies and assist with management.
• Skills in dexterity for moving and positioning patients.
• Periodic pushing, pulling, and lifting patients.
