Laundry Aide-PRN Arcadia, Louisiana

General Description

Under the direction of the Housekeeping / Laundry Supervisor, the Laundry Aide is responsible for ensuring Facility linen and resident’s personal clothing are properly collected, sorted, laundered, distributed and/or stored according to Company policy.

• Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in shift assignments to meet Facility needs.
• Handles all laundry in accordance with sanitary guidelines.
• Sorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories. Lifts and carries loads of laundry to / from cleaning equipment.
• Washes, dries, folds, and hangs all laundry neatly and properly.
• Identifies personal laundry with resident’s name and re‑marks personal clothing items, as needed.
• Returns clean resident laundry to appropriate rooms and supply areas.
• Cleans dryer filters every 2 (two) hours, keeps laundry area clean, machines dusted, and floor mopped weekly.
• Works in cooperation with other employees of the Facility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for both residents and staff.
• Interacts with residents and family members, co-workers, clinical and ancillary staff in a non-judgmental, supportive and calm manner.
• Addresses family satisfaction issues immediately by reporting them to the Supervisor in a professional manner.
• Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a positive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Performs Housekeeper duties as needed.
