One (1) position available. Full‑time (5.5 hours per day, 9.5 months per year). Tentative reporting hours 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Summary of DutiesUnder the supervision of the Special Education Administrator and the direction of the credentialed Speech‑Language Pathologist, assist in providing speech therapy services to students with speech‑language disorders as prescribed by the Individual Educational Program (IEP). Perform instructional activities and clerical duties in support of student case management, and maintain records and documentation on students.
Salary RangeSpeech Language Pathology Assistant: $31.54 – $38.44 per hour.
Speech Language Pathology Assistant – Bilingual (Spanish): $32.34 – $39.39 per hour.
Speech Language Pathology Assistant – Bilingual/Biliterate (Spanish): $33.18 – $40.41 per hour.
Classified salary range: 24.5.
EducationAssociate degree or higher in Speech‑Language Pathology Assistance from an accredited college or Board‑approved SLPA program.
ExperienceMinimum of 100 hours of SLPA fieldwork experience required.
Required Documents- Proof of education: transcripts on letterhead or diploma.
- Current and valid registration as a Speech‑Language Pathology Assistant with the California Speech‑Language Pathology and Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispenser Board.
- Foreign education transcripts must be evaluated by an approved service.

License / Certification / Training RequirementsValid Class C California Driver License and good driving record required. Must maintain a current Speech and Language Pathology license throughout employment.
Work EnvironmentPrimarily inside a classroom environment, in direct contact with students, district staff, and public. Exposure to minor contagious illnesses. High volume of work, frequent interruptions, changing priorities, short deadlines.
Physical RequirementsStand, walk, sit, reach overhead, lift and carry up to 15 lbs., push, pull, stoop, kneel, balance, bend repeatedly. Use fingers repetitively, manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, speak clearly, hear normal conversation, see near and far, use depth perception, see small details, use a computer and telephone.

A. Advanced placement available only upon initial hire and reviewed by the Personnel Commission.
Candidates who pass all hurdles placed on an eligibility list. Top three eligible will be interviewed. Eligibility list maintained for six months. Probationary period of six months or 130 working days whichever longer. Background and fingerprinting required.
Processing FeeApproximately $64 processing fee for fingerprinting paid at the time of processing. Money order only, payable to RUSD.
Veterans CreditActive service of 30+ days may receive five‑point credit; disabled veterans ten‑point credit. Credit applies only at initial hire. Submit DD‑214 with application.
