Job Summary

The Invasive Radiologic Technician Lead is responsible for scrubbing/monitoring/operating the bi-plane and lab equipment for all diagnostic, interventional, hybrid, interventional radiology and electrophysiologic catherization procedures performed in the Catheterization Lab; serves as a resource to other technologists. Manages the lab supplies/storage, charges, and monitors equipment maintenance issues to assure quality and compliance with regulatory measures and partners with the Charge RN and Manager on patient flow and operations.

Precepts new CCL Tech associates; coaches their clinical development; and provides feedback on Rad Tech clinical competence to the Manager. Selects and sets up cath procedures according to patient age specific needs and physician preferences. Shares emergency call to cover evenings/holidays/weekends in conjunction with other staff. The population includes newborns through young adults with congenital or acquired heart disease and arrhythmias.

Minimum $50.40 Midpoint $66.78 Maximum $83.16 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience
  • Required:

    Minimum five (5) years of Cath Lab/Interventional experience which includes three (3) years in the cardiac cath lab scrubbing.
  • Preferred:
    Two (2) years of Pediatric cath lab experience. Electrophysiology experience strongly preferred.
Education
  • Required:

    Graduate from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program.
Training
  • Required:

    Preceptor course.
Specialized Skills
  • Required:

    Exhibit exceptional verbal and written communication skills; demonstrate analytical, organizational, critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills; adaptable, flexible and serves as a strong change agent; execute attention to detail, vigilance, poise, and composure in stressful situations; assist team in meeting regulatory requirements; role model; and have Proficient skills in Microsoft Office e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Preferred:
    Knowledge of procedures and practices with diagnostic EP studies, RF/Cryo ablation, transesophageal pacing, and ICE. Identifying arrhythmias and using Micropace. Ability to configure pinning for catheter configuration.
Licensure
  • Required:

    American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT);
    Radiologic Technologist
    -CA (CRT);
    Certified Radiologic Technologist - CA Fluoroscopy permit (if candidate is from out of state, California Certified Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy must be obtained within 6 months of hire);
    Basic Life Support (BLS);
    Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS);
    Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Work Environments

Functional Demand:
Medium - High energy level.

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient).
