Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Memory Care Specialist to join our dedicated team. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide specialized care to clients diagnosed with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other memory-related conditions.

This role requires flexibility with non-memory care clients, as care needs may arise at any time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized cognitive care to clients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other memory-related conditions.
  • Follow, and help to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's cognitive needs.
  • Engage clients in therapeutic activities designed to stimulate cognitive function and memory retention.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Monitor and document changes in clients' cognitive and physical health.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and other care team members to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain a calm and supportive environment for clients experiencing memory-related challenges.
  • Reliably travel to various client locations within a 35-mile radius of Antioch (or your home address), as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in memory care, with proof of experience and certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of cognitive impairments, including Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
  • Ability to work any shift and travel within the specified radius.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on patience and empathy.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development in memory care.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with therapeutic activities designed for cognitive stimulation.
  • Familiarity with best practices in memory care and cognitive rehabilitation.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors associated with cognitive impairments.
