In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of residential homes, ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals served, support and develop staff, maintain compliance with program standards, and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver exceptional services. This position combines leadership, advocacy, coordination, and direct support to help individuals achieve their personal goals and live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day operations of residential homes while fostering a positive, person-centered environment for individuals served.
• Support, coach, and provide incidental teaching for Direct Support Professionals to promote quality care and professional growth.
• Coordinate and maintain daily activity schedules that encourage engagement, independence, and achievement of individual goals.
• Advocate for individual rights and actively participate in Individual Support Plan meetings, RN visits, and person-centered planning activities.
• Train staff regarding individuals' medical needs, preferences, medications, and potential side effects to ensure quality support and compliance.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments and assist with management of client finances as appropriate.
• Collaborate with Program Coordinators and healthcare professionals regarding monthly RN visits, special diets, adaptive equipment training, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitor residential documentation, including daily notes, goal progress, health tracking, and authorized service records to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct audits and review Medication Administration Records (MARs) to maintain compliance with licensing and certification requirements.
• Inspect homes regularly to ensure health, safety, cleanliness, and maintenance standards are consistently met.
• Maintain safety kits, coordinate safety drills, and ensure required training and documentation are completed.
• Complete incident and event reports and address follow-up actions as needed.
• Coordinate staffing coverage during absences, cover open shifts when necessary, and respond to program needs on a 24/7 on-call basis.
• Monitor mileage usage and other assigned resources within budget guidelines.
• Participate in organizational committees and perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and/or Credential

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience working in the field of intellectual and/or developmental disabilities required; OR successful completion of training in Missouri Quality Outcomes approved by the Division of Developmental Disabilities regional office.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence accurately and professionally.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals served, families, employees, and community partners using person-centered language.
