Job Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II supports the development and implementation of new diagnostic assays. Working independently under director's guidance, performs assay and equipment validation, authors standard operating procedures, develops training and competency documents, and ensures quality and regulatory compliance.

Pay Range

Minimum $50.40

Midpoint $66.78

Maximum $83.16

Experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of Clinical Laboratory experience.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of Clinical Laboratory experience.
Education
  • Bachelor degree – Biological Science.
Training
  • None required.
Specialized Skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organization skills; excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job.
  • Proficient knowledge of computer systems and software used in the functional area.
  • Strong attention to detail, vigilance, poise, and composure in stressful situations.
Licensure
  • Clinical Lab Scientist‑CA (CLS);
    Limited Licensed CLS may be accepted in lieu of a General CLS.
  • American Society of Clinical Pathology.
Work Environment

Functional demand:
Sedentary – Very light energy level. Requires lifting up to 20 lbs, pushing or pulling a 20‑lb cart, frequent bending, carrying objects, climbing, keyboard use or repetitive motion, fine motor activities, reaching forward or overhead, and various other tasks. Must meet sensory requirements such as color discrimination, depth perception, near and far vision, and hearing.
