Make a Meaningful Impact Every Day As a School-Based Support Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in helping youth succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. In this position, you’ll provide hands-on support directly in the school setting while collaborating with families, educators, and community partners to promote resilience, recovery, and overall well-being.

What You'll DoDeliver individualized behavioral health interventions aligned with treatment goals in a school-based setting

Support students in building coping skills, improving social-emotional functioning, and developing daily life skills

Partner with schools, families, and community providers to ensure coordinated, high-quality care Manage a caseload while maintaining timely, accurate, and compliant documentation

Provide crisis intervention, follow-up support, and outreach when needed

Conduct home visits to strengthen engagement with youth and families

Assist with quality assurance efforts, data tracking, and program compliance

Participate in supervision, ongoing training, and professional development opportunities

Adapt to evolving student needs while supporting program goals through collaboration and flexibility

What You Bring Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Understanding of case management, rehabilitation, and treatment planning in behavioral health

Knowledge of challenges impacting youth with mental health and/or substance use needs

Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, schools, and community partners

Strong communication skills, including documentation and de-escalation techniques

Ability to manage time effectively and coordinate services across multiple systems

Comfort using electronic health records and standard office technology

Strong initiative with a commitment to high-quality, person-centered care Ability to respond calmly and appropriately in crisis situations

Education & Experience Requirements Qualified candidates must meet one of the following:

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health, or a related field; OR Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field plus 2 years of relevant behavioral health experience; ORAny 4-year combination of higher education and 2 years of qualifying experience; OR Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support; OR4 years of full-time qualifying experience

Qualifying Experience Includes:

Providing individual or group services focused on recovery and resiliency

Teaching coping and life skills

Supporting success in school, community, or employment settings

Implementing treatment plan objectives
