Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Paramedic role based in Waynesville, MO. The Paramedic responds to emergency calls, assesses patient conditions, and provides advanced life support, including airway management, IV therapy, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring. Daily duties include safely operating and maintaining ambulance equipment, documenting patient care accurately, and communicating effectively with dispatchers, hospitals, and other medical professionals. The role involves participating in training, quality assurance activities, and community education events, while following all clinical protocols, safety regulations, and district policies.
Paramedics may work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure continuous emergency coverage.
Qualifications
- Current Paramedic certification/licensure in the State of Missouri (or eligibility to obtain), and completion of an accredited Paramedic training program.
- Demonstrated skills in patient assessment, advanced life support procedures, emergency interventions, and safe patient transport.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, including clear documentation, professional interaction with patients and families, and collaboration with healthcare and public safety partners.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments, make sound clinical decisions, and maintain composure and professionalism in emergency situations.
- Physical capability to lift and move patients and equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather and environmental conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and willingness to operate emergency vehicles in accordance with district policies.
- Commitment to ongoing education, adherence to clinical protocols, and participation in training and quality improvement initiatives.
- CPR, ACLS, and other relevant emergency certifications preferred; prior EMS or emergency department experience is an advantage.
