Physical Therapist Assistant
We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to provide rehabilitation services under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist. The PTA will implement treatment plans, provide therapeutic interventions, monitor patient progress, and help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and independence.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, stretching, strengthening, gait training, and balance activities.
- Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and use of assistive devices.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and report changes to the Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility, safety, and home programs.
- Maintain a safe and organized treatment environment.
- Document treatment sessions accurately and timely in the EMR.
- Participate in patient care planning and interdisciplinary communication.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active PTA license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent PTA experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation, mobility, and patient safety.
- Excellent communication, organization, teamwork, and patient-care skills.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
- Experience in acute care, outpatient, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or home health.
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, geriatric, post-surgical, or medically complex patients.
- Strong knowledge of gait training, balance activities, transfers, and assistive devices.
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
