Job Summary
The Medical Assistant with X‑Ray provides support to Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologist, and patients. Responsibilities include patient care management, organization, and communication, performing limited capacity x‑rays, and reporting results to providers with high quality and timeliness.
Job Requirements- Education:
Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required. - Work Experience:
Medical Assistant experience preferred; experience performing x‑rays preferred. - Required
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire. - Certified Medical Assistant:
Must obtain one of the following certifications within 15 months of hire:- CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
- CMA – Certified Medical Assistant
- RMA – Registered Medical Assistant
- NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant
- NRCMA – Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant
- State X‑ray Requirements:
• NY – N/A
• OR – State limited X‑ray certification for each body area
• WA – State registration credential
• CA – Completed X‑ray tech school and limited X‑ray permit
• MD – Certificate authorizing performance of x‑rays without a license
• AR – State limited X‑ray licensure required
• MO – Completed X‑ray operator instruction
• OK – Completed X‑ray operator instruction
• NC – Minimum one of MA school graduation, MA certification, or CPOE order entry certificate
• MI – Completed X‑ray operator instruction
• TX – Limited X‑ray certificate
• VA – Limited Radiologic Technologist or Radiologist Assistant license
• DC – Certified by ARRT
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time‑management skills and ability to multi‑task

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
- Collaboration, innovation, diversity and inclusion, integrity, and accountability

- Perform limited x‑ray services as required, following clinical protocols and safety procedures.
- Patient registration, including paperwork and insurance verification, co‑pay processing, appointment scheduling, and referral coordination.
- Patient preparation and rooming: verify patient information, record medical history, obtain vital signs, and conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed.
- Stocking and maintenance of exam rooms, front desk, and reception areas, ensuring supplies and equipment are available and logged.
- Administrative duties: maintain medical records, answer calls, manage correspondence, conduct courtesy callbacks, perform opening and closing duties, and ensure quality assurance and preventive maintenance of equipment.
- All other duties as assigned by leadership.
