- Friday 8:00am-5:00pm and may require working some evenings and weekend schedules
Pay rate: $22.98/hour - $24.12/hour, depending on years of experience and education

Position
Description:
The CSU Navigator is responsible for providing recovery-focused crisis intervention, community resources, and support and system navigation services to clients. The Program is designed to provide a variety of mental health services which may include: crisis intervention, intense brief case management and support, system navigation, and linkages to services for individuals residing in Sacramento County living with a mental illness or emotional disturbance and requiring crisis intervention.
Navigators are placed at various access points (i.e., local emergency rooms) to help address gaps in crisis response services and to better meet the needs of those experiencing a mental health crisis in the least restrictive manner possible. The goals of this program are to improve the client’s experience in achieving wellness and recovery, provide timely access to needed services, reduce unnecessary hospitalizations, inpatient days, and recidivism, and mitigate unnecessary expenditures of law enforcement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (includes the following; other duties may be assigned)
- Support individuals with active listening, demonstration of empathy, and carry a message of hope and recovery.
- Observe, assess, intervene, and refer (within one’s scope of practice) in situations with clients regarding mental health symptoms, physical health symptoms, and substance use issues.
- Provide positive public relations, community referrals, information, and support by linking clients to needed resources; advocate with and on behalf of clients and significant support persons the clients have identified.
- Accurately complete all necessary forms, reports, and paperwork required by the program on a timely basis (e.g., progress notes, special incident reports, discharge summaries, Medi-Cal billing, Avatar forms, and HMIS).
