ASCP Certified Pharmacy Technician - Retail Pharmacy Day Shift

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Retail Pharmacy Technician, where your role is vital in supporting patient care through efficient medication management. This position involves maintaining both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medication inventories, processing prescriptions, assisting customers, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations.

• Respond promptly and courteously to customer requests for medication and information.
• Manage inventory by stocking vials, caps, bags, and OTC shelves, including ordering and restocking special items.
• Process prescriptions accurately using computer systems, including inputting new patients, refills, and price checks.
• Verify medication accuracy by counting, labeling, and performing National Drug Code (NDC) checks.
• Handle telephone inquiries professionally, assisting customers with OTC purchases and prescription information.
• Perform monthly inspections to identify and remove outdated items.
• Participate in pharmacy and healthcare improvement initiatives.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

At least one year of pharmacy experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred. Candidates must be registered or have applied for registration prior to starting.

This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity, including standing and walking up stairs for about half the shift and light lifting up to 25 pounds.

Most work is performed within the pharmacy, with occasional rounds to patient care units. The environment includes printer and telephone noise.
