Position: Occupational Therapist (OT) - General
Location: Mound City

Occupational Therapist (OT) - General

As an occupational therapist generalist, you evaluate patients and develop treatment plans to improve independence in daily living activities and functional participation across settings. You collaborate with the rehab team to implement interventions and educate patients and caregivers for home programs.

Responsibilities
  • Assess occupational performance and create individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide therapeutic activities to improve ADLs, IADLs, and functional skills.
  • Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on home programs and safety adaptations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and social workers to coordinate care.
  • Advocate for patient needs and ensure safe, accessible environments.
  • Maintain equipment, documentation, and compliance with therapy standards.
Qualifications

Master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.

State licensure as an occupational therapist; NBCOT certification preferred or required by state.

NBCOT Certification

Experience evaluating and treating a range of patient populations; strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Experience
  • Experience in inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient clinics, or skilled nursing facilities.
  • Experience documenting in EHR and coordinating care with a rehab team.
Preferred
  • Geriatric or pediatrics pediatric OT specialization; experience in home safety assessments.
  • Work Environment

    Work across hospitals, clinics, or rehab facilities with a multidisciplinary team; schedule may involve early mornings or evenings.

    Document in EHR; ensure safety and patient-centered care; frequent patient education occurs.

    May involve home visits or community-based settings depending on role.
