Physical Therapist Assistant - PTA

Provide skilled physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in a skilled nursing facility (SNF). Implement treatment plans to improve residents’ mobility, strength, balance, and functional ability. Deliver direct therapy services, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, and balance activities. Monitor and report residents’ responses to interventions and changes in condition to the supervising PT. Assist with resident assessments, documentation, and care planning as needed.

Educate residents and caregivers on exercises and safety techniques for use outside therapy sessions. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system. Ensure proper use and maintenance of therapy equipment and assistive devices. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated resident care. Adhere to all applicable state, federal, and facility regulations and professional standards. Maintain ethical standards, licensure, and continuing education requirements.

Work in a collaborative, fast-paced SNF/long-term care environment that requires physical activity such as standing, lifting, and assisting residents with mobility.
