ASCP Clinical Staff Pharmacist - Evenings

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist working evening shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule. This role involves collaborating with fellow pharmacists to compound and dispense medications and IV supplies with precision and care.

• Accurately enter and confirm medication orders using Meditech, ensuring no duplications or errors.
• Respond to inquiries from pharmacy staff, nursing, and physicians by researching medication information through Meditech and other resources.
• Utilize Omni Server reports to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Review physician orders for accuracy, clarify any uncertainties with prescribers, and document communications.
• Check for duplicate therapies, drug interactions, adverse reactions, and inappropriate orders.
• Ensure dispensed medications match prescriber orders and operate pharmacy automation systems effectively.
• Fill dispensing system canisters promptly, perform safety checks including barcode scanning, and verify unit dose repackaging.
• Maintain competency in IV room procedures and prepare compounded sterile products using aseptic techniques, documenting chemotherapy treatments.
• Manage narcotic counts and paperwork accurately, receiving controlled substances and resolving discrepancies immediately.
• Participate actively in committees, provide timely drug information to healthcare professionals and patients, and assist in pharmacist hiring and student precepting.
• Support clinical pharmacy coordination to enhance drug therapy management and complete all required clinical documentation and mandatory education annually.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy is required.

At least one year of hospital pharmacy experience or internship is preferred.

Must hold or be able to obtain a pharmacist license within 90 days in the relevant state. Active membership in pharmacy organizations is encouraged.

This position requires sustained mental concentration and physical activities including standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Standard pharmacy environment with exposure to printer, automation, and telephone noise. The role involves meeting deadlines and handling sensitive situations with professionalism.
