This full-time role serves as the primary point of contact for physician clinics, managing telephone communications and front desk operations with professionalism and warmth. Key Responsibilities- Promptly answer and direct incoming calls.
- Greet patients with respect and compassion.
- Communicate clearly with patients and their families, keeping them informed.
- Accurately collect and enter demographic and insurance information.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations.
- Schedule appointments following established protocols.
- Assist patients and guardians with patient portal setup and usage.
- Make confirmation calls and guide patients through registration paperwork.
- Handle messages efficiently and update patient records as needed.
- Verify insurance coverage and collect co-payments at the time of service.
- Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and reliability under pressure.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Preference given to graduates of accredited medical receptionist programs or candidates with two years of healthcare experience.
ExperienceAt least two years of experience in a general medical office or similar healthcare setting preferred. Equivalent customer service experience will also be considered.
CertificationsAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Physical and Mental RequirementsThis position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a medical office setting with occasional exposure to infectious diseases and challenging interactions. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
