Administrative Diet Clerk

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, supporting patient nutrition and dietary needs with care and precision. As an Administrative Diet Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely diet screenings, accurate meal selections, and proper nutritional support based on prescribed diet orders.

This role involves managing patient menus, verifying meal tray accuracy, and communicating dietary concerns to both patients and healthcare staff. You will be responsible for preparing and delivering snacks, maintaining dietary records, and ensuring food safety standards are met during meal service.

Communicate any issues related to patient diets, meal appropriateness, and patient preferences that may impact nutritional intake.

Perform administrative tasks including maintaining patient menus, nutritional analyses, dietary allergies, and diet order accuracy.

Engage with patients and nursing staff to clarify diet instructions and modifications.

Ensure food temperatures are checked prior to meal service and verify meal tray accuracy.

Deliver patient trays and snacks during meal times.

Report any patient or diet-related concerns to dietitians promptly.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Minimum of six months experience in healthcare food services is required.

Ability to maintain concentration during repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Capability to stand and walk for long durations.

Proficient reading and writing skills.

Ability to learn and understand patient feeding procedures and diet modifications.

Physical ability to lift at least 30 pounds during shifts.

Work environment includes shared office and food service areas that may be warm and crowded. Exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, heat, noise, wet floors, hot steam, chemicals, and sharp objects is possible. The role requires adaptability to busy and sometimes noisy patient care settings.
