ASCP Registered Dietitian (RD) - Nutritional Services

Owensville, MO $54,009 - $72,099 a year

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as a Registered Dietitian responsible for delivering expert nutritional care and education to hospital patients. This role involves evaluating, developing, and implementing individualized nutrition plans, including order writing and parenteral/enteral nutrition support. You will provide inpatient nutrition counseling, staff education, and intern precepting, while assisting with policy development and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess, develop, and implement patient nutrition care plans.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to communicate assessments and interventions.
  • Provide nutritional education to inpatients to support their health and recovery.
  • Identify and address issues related to patient feeding, supplements, and tube feeds, working with food services and nursing staff.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to nutritional care, including policy development and competency validation.
Education

Bachelor's degree in Nutrition is required.

Experience

At least one year of clinical dietetics experience is preferred.

Certification and Licensure

Must be registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and hold a valid Registered Dietitian license for the state.

Physical Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, use a computer, stand and walk for extended periods, teach and communicate nutrition effectively, and perform measurements and calculations.

Working Conditions

May encounter challenging conditions in patient care areas, including exposure to infectious diseases and bodily fluids. Work environment includes heat, noise, wet floors, and potential hazards in food production areas. Noise levels may vary in patient rooms and nursing stations.
