Administrative Diet Clerk

This position involves ensuring patients receive timely dietary screenings, accurate meal selections based on prescribed diet orders, and proper documentation to support nutritional needs.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate any issues related to patient diets, meal appropriateness, and preferences that may impact nutritional intake.
- Maintain and update patient menus, nutritional analyses, dietary allergies, and diet orders with precision.
- Collaborate with patients and nursing staff to clarify diet instructions and modifications.
- Verify food temperatures before meal service and ensure meal tray accuracy.
- Distribute patient trays and prepare snacks as needed.
- Report any patient or diet concerns to dietitians promptly.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ExperienceAt least six months of experience in healthcare food services is preferred.
Requirements- Strong mental focus for repetitive tasks over extended periods.
- Ability to stand and walk for long durations.
- Proficient reading and writing skills.
- Capacity to learn and understand patient feeding procedures and diet modifications.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds during shifts.
Work environment includes shared office and food service areas that may be warm and crowded. Exposure to infectious materials, heat, noise, wet floors, steam, chemicals, and sharp objects is possible. The role requires adaptability to a dynamic and sometimes noisy healthcare setting.
