Summary:

** To provide high quality, professional and compassionate radiation therapy dosimetry work, under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist and the supervision of a Medical Physicist.
** Job Requirements, Prerequisites and

Essential Functions:

**** Job Specifications:

* Education:

*** Completion of required training process/programs for Medical Dosimetrist as defined by Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) Required.
*
* Experience:

*** 3 or more years of dosimetry experience in a progressive radiation oncology clinic.
** License and

Certifications:

*** Medical Dosimetry Cert BOA (MDCB) required at hire.
* Integrative Agitation Management (IAMTAC) Required within 30 days of hire
** Prerequisite

Skills:

*** Ability to accurately follow instructions; work professionally with or without supervision.
* Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, physicians and staff.
* Knowledge of dosimetry practice.
* Ability to evaluate treatments plans for clinical value.
* Ability to evaluate treatment plans acceptable in clinical situations.
* Knowledge of dosimetry concepts, analysis of data and quality control of dosimetry calculations.
* Ability to coordinate essential activities in workflow for radiation therapy treatments.
* Knowledge of technical procedures in the department and the ability to carry out procedures in an accurate, safe and efficient manner.
* Able to follow instruction and documented procedures in performing tasks on the computer workstations in an accurate, safe and efficient manner.
* Knowledge comparable to college-level introduction courses in: anatomy, physiology, universal precautions, sterile procedure, occupational/radiation safety, mathematics, physics and medical terminology.
* Ability to operate treatment equipment.
* Familiarization with current theory and practice and new developments in radiation therapy and dosimetry.
* Strong organizational skills.
