Overview Of The Recreational Therapist Role
The Recreational Therapist plans, organizes, and directs activities and programs for psychiatric patients to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being.
Under the supervision of the Manager, Administrative Supervisor, and/or Director of Behavioral Services, they evaluate patient conditions, develop therapy plans, and assess progress.
Qualifications Include- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification
- SAFE Level 2 certification within 6 months of hire
- Less than one year of experience (preferred 1-2 years)
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
The position is full-time, working days in the Therapy department.

- Ability to evaluate and monitor patient progress
