General
Summary:
Under general supervision, the Administrator leads and manages clinical and business operations along with financial oversight for a regional cancer institute. This role involves strategic planning for oncology services and related health programs within a healthcare system serving the Midwest region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides visionary leadership and support to ensure compassionate, high-quality patient care.
- Collaborates with medical staff and healthcare professionals to plan, organize, and oversee processes related to quality outcomes, risk management, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Effectively manages personnel through evaluation, training, and motivation, establishing clear accountability guidelines.
- Participates in policy development and reviews to meet organizational goals, making recommendations to executive leadership as needed.
- Utilizes planning, research, and foresight to make informed decisions aligned with system goals.
- Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to optimize efficiencies and outcomes.
- Develops and implements services that promote excellent healthcare delivery and customer service.
- Champions service excellence for patients, visitors, physicians, and employees.
- Creates a culture of participation and collaboration in planning, implementing, and evaluating standards to ensure safe and effective healthcare.
- Maintains relationships with referring centers, providers, and affiliated programs.
- Enhances patient experience through best practices, care pathways, and positive communication.
- Drives employee engagement through strategic initiatives.
- Oversees oncology outreach, education, screening, and community events. Responsible for program growth and sustainability.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field required;
Master's degree (MBA, MHA) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of five years in a managerial or higher leadership role within healthcare. Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills are essential. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines from agencies such as TJC, OSHA, and state health departments is required.

Proven business planning and program development expertise with a track record of advancing quality clinical services.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to maintain concentration during intense periods and meet physical demands including standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 10 lbs. Frequent multitasking and handling stressful situations are expected.
