Administrator | Director Of Oncology Services

Join a leading healthcare organization in the Midwest region as the Administrator overseeing oncology services. This role offers the opportunity to lead and manage clinical and business operations for a prominent cancer institute, ensuring compassionate, high-quality patient care.

General Summary

Under general supervision, the Administrator is responsible for leadership, management, and financial oversight of oncology services. This includes strategic planning and collaboration with medical staff and healthcare professionals to optimize quality outcomes, risk management, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide visionary leadership to oncology services, fostering positive patient outcomes through compassionate care.
  • Collaborate with medical and healthcare teams to plan, organize, and oversee quality and safety initiatives.
  • Manage departmental operations effectively, including personnel evaluation, training, and motivation.
  • Delegate responsibilities clearly and establish accountability standards.
  • Develop and review policies and procedures to meet organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize planning and research skills to make informed decisions aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
  • Promote service excellence for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff through ongoing education.
  • Foster a participative environment for planning, implementing, and evaluating healthcare standards.
  • Maintain relationships with referring centers, providers, and affiliated programs to enhance patient care.
  • Drive employee engagement through strategic initiatives and activities.
  • Oversee oncology outreach, education, screening, and community events.
  • Lead programmatic growth and development of oncology services.
Education

A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. A Master's degree such as an MBA or MHA is preferred.

Experience

At least five years of managerial experience in healthcare or related fields is essential. Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills are required. Familiarity with regulatory guidelines from agencies such as TJC, OSHA, and Health and Senior Services is necessary.

Additional Skills

Proven business planning and program development expertise with a track record of advancing quality clinical services.

Mental And

Physical Requirements

Ability to maintain concentration during intense periods and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.

Working Conditions

Standard office environment with frequent interruptions and the need to handle stressful situations effectively.
