American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Long Term Care facility, requiring 1+ year of experience and prior LTC or Rehab setting experience.
Requirements- Current, active Occupational Therapy license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
- LTC or Rehab setting experience required
- Compact license accepted
- 1 reference required at time of consideration
- Long Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility setting
- Day shift, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
- Start time flexible between 6AM and 10AM as long as consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehab
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Group therapy sessions permitted to support caseload management
- Dedicated documentation device typically provided per therapist
- Caseload of approximately 7-12 patients per day depending on case mix
- Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders and develop individualized plans of care
- Provide skilled, medically necessary treatment including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, and modalities
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide interventions
- Assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members on patient progress and treatment plans
- Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehab meetings
- Supervise and support occupational therapy assistants, aides, and students as needed
- Adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, and state practice act standards
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be requested
