In-Office | St. Helena, CA, United States
Day Shift 4 x 10's – Set schedule Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Occasionally, a Friday for PTO coverage.
Certifications and Documentation (required): Current California RHB License in X-ray & Mammo, CRT(M);
Certificate of Completion of Initial Training for Mammo (40 hrs);
Certificate of New Modality training for Digital / 3D;
List of initial 25 supervised mammograms; CEUS for the last 3 years;
Continuing experience numbers (200 mammograms performed in the last 24 months);
No Call and No Weekends.
Job Summary
Performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. Performs all required procedures in the department while operating specialized equipment. Acts as a competent clinician who provides clinical care in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision-making skills.
Job Qualifications- Education and Work Experience
:
Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology (Required). Experience as a Mammography Technologist (Preferred). - Licenses/Certifications
:
Radiologic Technologist (RT) and Mammography Technologist (Required in CA);
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R) required;
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Mammography (ARRT-M) required (CA and HI preferred);
Basic Life Support (BLS or equivalent) certification from an approved vendor per AH policy (Required);
Fluoroscopy license (Preferred in CA);
Venipuncture certification (Preferred in CA);
Facility Specific License/
Certifications:
AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS (Required);
Mammographic Radiologic Technology (MRT) (Required).
- Completes patient education regarding the exam while promoting privacy and comfort for the patient.
- Follows infection control and safety guidelines.
- Performs diagnostic or screening mammogram as ordered.
- Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
- Produces high quality films for the radiologist to evaluate and completes appropriate documentation.
- Obtains pertinent patient information and disseminates subsequent patient preparation instructions to patient care areas.
- Elevates questions, problems and significant challenges to more senior staff for direction or subject matter expertise.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
