Position Summary:The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic services. The PTA assists patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, and overall function while ensuring a safe and supportive treatment environment.
Responsibilities:- Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation activities.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Document patient treatments, responses, and progress accurately and timely.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and treatment goals.
- Maintain treatment equipment and ensure a clean, safe therapy environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care.
- Adhere to all facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current PTA license/certification in the state of employment.
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
