Schedule
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- On-call approximately every 10th weekend
- 2–3 evening/night call shifts per month
- One holiday per year
What You’ll Do
- Perform high-level disinfection of endoscopes
- Assist physicians during endoscopy procedures, including biopsies and the use of procedural instruments
- Support the Pre-Op/PACU areas as needed, including assisting with patient transport for discharge
- Work collaboratively as part of a fast-paced Endoscopy team

- Endoscopy Technician experience is preferred, but not required
- A dependable, hardworking team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Candidates with related healthcare or procedural experience may also have transferable skills

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park.
The Endoscopy department at Barnes Jewish West County Hospital is a highly specialized, full-service department meeting the needs of inpatient and outpatient clients. The lab specializes in Upper Endoscopy (EGD), Esophagoscopy, Colonoscopy, Flexible sigmoidoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), ERCP, Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Small bowel enteroscopy (SBE), and Video capsule endoscopy. The endoscopy staff consists of a NP, RN
¿ s and technicians who are overseen by an Endoscopy Supervisor.
Role Purpose
Under the direction of an RN and/or physician, the Endoscopy technician assists with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including transporting patients, disinfecting and process equipment, preparing the procedure room, and assisting in patient care.
