Resort Ambassador - Winter

The role of Resort Ambassador is to help direct guests as they enter the lodge, and answer questions about our resort services. This position provides added value to our guests by determining their needs at their first point of entry and ensuring they are guided to the appropriate area to best serve their needs. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and is always ready to help where needed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet guests as they enter the resort area (primarily Lower Breezeway) in a friendly and welcoming manner
• Determine guest needs through open questions and direct them to the appropriate counter or area for prompt service
• Effectively communicate with guests about resort services and conditions of the day, including any special events
• Obtain guest feedback and share with relevant departments for follow-up
• Direct guests to all resources available to obtain additional information about resort services, including website and app
• Communicate with Marketing, Rentals, Guest Services, Lesson Desk and other departments to ensure information shared with guests is accurate
• Manage lines and flow of guests through shared lodge spaces
• Other duties as assigned

• Experience in a customer service role
• Ability to provide quality customer service and interact with guests and employees on a professional level
• Positive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Ability to spend long periods walking and standing in an often noisy environment
• Familiar with Bear Valley region and resort

Weather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Bear Valley employees. When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 12 to 24 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arriveatyourdesignatedworkstationat the scheduled time.

Keep in mind that you will oftenberequiredtodriveonhilly,snow packed, and icy roads.

Atanytimeduringtheskiseason,Bear Valleyemployeesareoftenrequiredtoperformtheir tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

A professional appearance at Bear Valley is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. This uniform is for work hours ONLY, no exceptions. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work.

All hats worn must have the Bear Valley logo while on shift.

The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies of the mountain.
