Position: Sr HR Generalist - with LOA experience
Location: California

We're looking for an experienced Sr.
HR Generalist to join a busy property management company and serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, with a primary focus on Leave of Absence (LOA) management and employee support
.

This role partners closely with managers, employees, payroll, and benefits teams to ensure leave programs are administered with accuracy, compliance, empathy, and efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong HR partnership experience along with deep knowledge of FMLA, ADA, state leave laws, and company leave policies.
This role is a temporary position, with 4 days onsite. NO relocation offered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary HR partner for all Leave of Absence programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, parental leave, medical leave, and state-specific leave requirements.
  • Guide managers and employees through the employee life cycle
  • Partner with Benefits, Payroll, and third-party administrators to ensure accurate documentation, tracking, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Provide employee relations support and coaching to leaders on sensitive leave and accommodation matters.
  • Maintain and improve LOA processes, documentation, and reporting to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Support broader HR initiatives, including performance management, employee engagement, policy guidance, and organizational support.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of HR experience
  • Strong working knowledge of LOA administration, FMLA, ADA, and state leave laws
  • Excellent communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
  • HRIS experience preferred (Workday, ADP, UKG, or similar)
