Job DescriptionThe Rockwood School District is accepting applications for the position of Coordinator of Benefits for the Rockwood School District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Recruitment and Hiring
- Design and evaluate employee benefit programs specifically intended to recruit and retain staff.
- Lead the process for selecting district‑provided fringe benefits and facilitate the work of the Insurance Committee.
- Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) for all benefit programs in coordination with a benefits broker.
- Analyze benefits information to predict future costs, prepare detailed statistical reports, and make recommendations to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
- Operational Management
- Supervise the daily Benefits operations within Human Resources, including medical, prescription, dental, vision, wellness, life, long‑term disability, and employee assistance programs.
- Manage the annual open enrollment process and supervise the integration of benefit enrollments with payroll.
- Oversee payments to benefit providers and process billing for retiree benefit premiums.
- Maintain and annually update a benefit matrix for every position within the district.
- Compliance & Program Administration
- Ensure strict compliance with government regulations, including ACA, FMLA, COBRA, and ADA.
- Administer the Sick Leave Retirement Award program and conduct educational meetings for employees regarding retirement.
- Coordinate the Wellness Program.
- Manage Workers' Compensation incidents by maintaining preferred provider lists, monitoring accident reports, and advising managers on back‑to‑work status.
- Respond to information requests from district legal counsel as directed.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree or higher preferred in Human Resources, Business, or Education. - Legal Knowledge:
Thorough understanding of district policy and federal, state, and local legal requirements.
- Three to five years of experience in Benefits Administration or Human Resources (preferably in a school setting).
- Three to five years of experience in educational leadership, management, and long‑range planning.
