The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing key functions within the Human Resources Department at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, specifically focused on Team Member Relations, Engagement and Performance Management. This position plays a critical role in fostering a positive and respectful workplace culture, resolving team member concerns, and supporting professional development initiatives. The Manager also leads planning and coordination of internal events that promote engagement and recognition throughout the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of Team Member Relations, including conflict resolution, investigations, corrective actions, and policy interpretation, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance.
- Manage and develop a team of HR specialists responsible for conducting workplace investigations; provide direction, guidance, and quality oversight of investigative processes and outcomes.
- Review investigation findings and recommendations to ensure thoroughness, objectivity, and alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders by providing guidance on employee relations matters, performance management, and organizational policies.
- Partner with leadership to address complex or high-risk employee relations issues and recommend appropriate courses of action.
- Drive team member engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, events, and activities that enhance morale, retention, and workplace culture.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify trends, address workforce challenges, and implement proactive solutions that support a positive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, tribal, and local employment laws, maintaining current knowledge of regulatory changes and HR best practices.
- Analyze and report on key HR metrics (e.g., employee relations trends, engagement levels, training effectiveness) to inform decision-making.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies, programs, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership and support to HR staff.
- Assists with hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of subordinate staff.
- Establishes clear expectations and promotes a collaborative, service-oriented culture within the department.
- Ensures team members understand and adhere to HR procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally and confidentially.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, team member relations practices, and workplace investigations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (UKG Pro, Workday), Microsoft Office Suite, and presentation software.
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in human resources roles, including generalist or specialist functions.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in HR required.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practices in team member relations, engagement and performance management.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.

SKILLS:
Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.
