HR Specialist

The HR Specialist provides comprehensive support to day-to-day operations of Human Resources Team. This position provides support for all HR responsibilities, including performance management, succession planning, talent assessment, recruitment, payroll, benefits and employee relations, ensuring smooth HR operations and compliance. The HR Coordinator supports a variety of HR processes consistent with our policies, procedures and guidelines. This position must maintain confidentiality of all HR matters they are involved with.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and shares tools and data that support individual, team, and work group performance in alignment with strategic company goals and competency-based talent practices.
  • Coordinates the execution of bi-annual performance cycle, training, communications, HCM configuration, issue resolution and questions.
  • Maintains the Performance Management module within the HRIS system including creating performance cycles, managing competencies, updating top level corporate goals.
  • Manages the survey platform and tools for research purposes and Team Member experience surveys including new hire experience, first 30, 60, 90-day, and exit surveys.
  • Develops reporting dashboards for "Team Member Lifecycle" from survey data to identify trends, provide recommendations to leadership and create follow-up actions to create positive culture change and impact.
  • Leads efforts and execution around the design and delivery of company-wide climate survey.
  • Leads and maintains reporting and dashboards of climate survey data to identify trends, provide recommendations to leadership and create follow up actions to establish a positive culture change and impact.
  • Leads monthly HR Town Halls.
  • Responsible for Form I‑9 and E‑Verify compliance, including new hire completion, reverification requirements, and ongoing monitoring; maintain accurate records in accordance with DHS regulations and company policy. Delegate follow‑up actions and issue resolutions to store and distribution center leaders, providing guidance and oversight to ensure timely and compliant completion
  • Conduct and support DHS‑compliant I‑9 self‑audits for high‑volume hiring operations, ensuring accuracy of records and appropriate corrective action.
  • Coordinates and delegates audit follow-up and remediation activities to store and DC teams, monitor progress, and ensure issues are resolved to mitigate compliance risk.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential team member records in HRIS systems and physical files.
  • Assists with updating Human Resource documents on Save A Lot's internal file repository.
  • Assists with employee engagement and recognition initiatives aligned with organizational values.
  • Processes and codes People Operations invoices in a timely fashion.
  • Manages the monthly employee referral bonus process, including tracking eligibility, validating payouts, coordinating approvals, and submitting payments to payroll within required timelines; ensure accuracy, documentation, and compliance with payroll and HR policies.
  • Performs other HR related duties and support HR projects assigned to support internal business needs.
  • Acts as a backup to the HR Coordinator – Benefits & HRIS to sort the Human Resources department mail. This includes the scanning of documents for delivery as needed.
  • Acts as a backup to the HR Coordinator – Benefits & HRIS to backup the Support Center Receptionist.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity to all HR related matters and information

About You

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a corporate Human Resources or similar environment required
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred
  • Experience navigating and operating in Dayforce and Oracle systems a plus
  • Ability to demonstrate confidentiality with sensitive topics and information
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish business relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Offices suite of applications
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality with private and crucial information.
