Our National Conversation (ONC) is a non‑partisan media outlet focused on fostering civil, solutions‑oriented conversations about politics and public policy. As a volunteer leader we help shape America’s future by mentoring a diverse group of student interns.

We are looking for 3–4 experienced HR professionals to volunteer a minimum of 5–8 hours per week for one year, working closely with a team of interns. The successful candidate will manage the HR department, mentor interns, and support the organization’s growth.

• Attend weekly team meetings (Friday at noon PST / 3 p.m. EST) and communicate with the team via Slack, Zoom, email, and Google Drive.
• Lead the entire recruiting, onboarding, and off‑boarding processes.
• Resolve minor inquiries from student team leaders.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to interns on HR practices and professional development.
• Commit to one year of volunteer service (5–8 hours per week).

• Experience in human resources tasks and duties.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a small team.
