Job Overview

The Senior Human Resources Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Human Resources team at Life Fitness / Hammer Strength. The position provides operational support across multiple HR disciplines, serving as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries while ensuring accurate records, compliance, and a positive employee experience.

Responsibilities
  • Payroll Administration
    • Serve as the liaison between the company and the third‑party payroll provider.
    • Coordinate all payroll‑related activities, including time collection, status changes, compensation updates, deductions, garnishments, and other inputs.
    • Review payroll reports and audit data for accuracy before processing.
    • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies with employees, managers, and the provider.
    • Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist with year‑end payroll, audits, reporting requirements, and tax documentation.
    • Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and the payroll provider to improve payroll processes and maintain compliance.
    • Monitor service levels and maintain a strong relationship with the payroll provider.
  • Talent Acquisition
    • Coordinate interview scheduling and logistics for candidates, hiring managers, recruiters, and interview teams.
    • Prepare offer documentation and support pre‑employment activities.
    • Assist with candidate tracking and recruitment reporting.
    • Support recruiting events, career fairs, and other talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Onboarding & Orientation
    • Coordinate new hire onboarding activities and pre‑employment documentation.
    • Conduct or support new hire orientation programs.
    • Ensure completion of required onboarding paperwork and compliance documents.
    • Coordinate equipment, badge access, and readiness activities with internal departments.
  • Benefits Administration
    • Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefits inquiries.
    • Assist employees with enrollment, life event changes, and benefits documentation.
    • Support open enrollment activities and employee communications.
    • Coordinate with benefit vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve administration issues.
    • Maintain accurate benefits records and reporting.
  • HR Systems & Data Management
    • Maintain employee records in Workday and UKG.
    • Process transactions for hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and terminations.
    • Conduct regular audits of HR data for accuracy and integrity.
    • Generate standard reports and support HR metrics reporting.
    • Maintain personnel files in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Employee Support & HR Operations
    • Respond to questions regarding HR policies, programs, payroll, benefits, and procedures.
    • Assist with the administration of company programs and employee initiatives.
    • Support employee communication efforts and HR‑related announcements.
    • Coordinate engagement initiatives, recognition programs, wellness activities, and company events.
    • Assist with policy administration and compliance activities.
  • Perform all other duties reasonably related to the position.
Qualifications
  • 3‑4 years of experience in human resources, including payroll.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of HR processes and employment regulations.
  • High level of customer service orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
