Job Description

Balanced Diversity is seeking a highly organized, people-focused Onsite Employee Manager to support our workforce operations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can keep recruiting, scheduling, HR, payroll, and employee needs running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

You will serve as the primary onsite point of contact for Balanced Diversity employees and will be responsible for coordinating the employee experience from recruiting and onboarding through day-to-day workforce management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of employees
  • Manage employee schedules and help ensure appropriate coverage for a 24/7 operation
  • Coordinate LAWA badging, background checks, required training, and onboarding activities
  • Track employee timecards, attendance, missed punches, overtime, and payroll-related issues
  • Work closely with employees to resolve payroll, scheduling, attendance, and workplace concerns
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
  • Support HR processes including coaching, performance management, corrective action, and employee relations
  • Monitor call-outs and coordinate replacement coverage when needed
  • Communicate regularly with Balanced Diversity leadership and the client regarding staffing levels and employee needs
  • Help create a positive, responsive, and professional employee experience

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities at once.

Experience in retail, hospitality, staffing, or another high-volume environment involving employee scheduling is especially valuable.

You may be a great fit if you have:

  • Experience managing employee schedules and shift coverage
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills
  • Experience working directly with hourly employees
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Comfort handling confidential HR and payroll information
  • Ability to resolve employee concerns professionally and calmly
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Flexibility to support employees outside traditional business hours when needed
  • Strong computer and administrative skills
  • Spanish-speaking ability is a plus
  • Previous staffing, HR, recruiting, payroll, hospitality, or retail management experience is a plus

Who Will Thrive in This Role

You don't necessarily need to come from a traditional HR background.

A strong retail store manager, hospitality manager, scheduling coordinator, staffing coordinator, workforce supervisor, or operations manager who is great with people and understands how to manage hourly schedules could be an excellent fit.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys supporting employees while also maintaining the organization, accountability, and attention to detail required to successfully manage a large onsite workforce.
