Human Resources SpecialistSummary:
Serves as a committed partner to employees and leaders by supporting a wide range of human resource functions with a heavy emphasis on recruiting and retention activities. Primaryrecruitingfunctions include creating posting opportunities, building candidate pipelines,andcandidateonboarding. Also supports activities related to benefits, talent and performance management and employee relations.
Responsibilities:- Post job openings, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, and conduct reference and background checks
- Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation
- Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure completion of required paperwork such as I-9
- Onboard newly hired employees; prepare and implement orientation program
- Maintain job descriptions and job postings
- Assist with benefit enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
- Administer and track the company’s performance review process
- Prepare performance evaluation materials and system updates
- Monitor review completion deadlines and follow up with managers
- Participate in disciplinary matters by gathering details and documentation; may attend disciplinary meetings and/or terminations
- Track accidents and injuries, file appropriate claims, keep management updated on status.
- Support managers with enrolling, tracking and updating training plans for employees.
- Promote positive employee engagement through monthly birthday/anniversary acknowledgement, company events, quarterly newsletter, etc.
- Maintain and update data within the HRIS/PR systems.
- Track and administer leave programs (FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation) under direction of HR leadership
- Ensure federal, state, local employment regulations are followed and adhere to.
- Maintain knowledge of trends and best practices in Human Resources administration.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or another related field.
- 2-3 years’ experience in an HR support role.
- Experience supporting multiple locations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to connect and resonate with employees at all levels throughout the organization.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office (specifically Word & Excel), HRIS and Payroll software programs.
